Leading spine surgeon and founder-Trustee of The Spine Foundation (TSF), Dr. Shekhar Bhojraj, was conferred the prestigious Himanshu Roy Legacy Award 2026 for Excellence in Medicine and Public Health at a distinguished ceremony held in Mumbai, awarded by honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis, in the presence of Shri Ashish Shelar, MOS for Cultural Affairs, Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Cabinet Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Shri Ashish Jaiswal, MOS for Finance, Planning, and Agriculture. The award honours Dr. Shekhar Bhojraj’s remarkable decades-long dedication to spinal healthcare and his steadfast mission to bring quality spine care to India’s most underserved tribal and rural communities. Under Dr. Bhojraj’s pioneering leadership, TSF has established over 36 centres across India from Doda in Jammu and Kashmir to Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu, Makunda in Assam, and Kutchh in Gujarat providing world-class spine treatments at zero cost to thousands who would otherwise have had no access to specialised care.
