Perched in the lush Aravalli hills of Rajasthan, Mount Abu is more than a picturesque retreat—it’s a sanctuary of spirituality, wellness, and natural beauty. With its serene landscape, clean air, and strong yoga culture, the town draws visitors and residents alike toward a lifestyle rooted in physical activity and holistic well-being. Yet beneath this tranquil exterior lies a lesser-known reality: the physical demands of hiking, daily chores in hilly terrain, and even certain yoga postures—when practiced without awareness—can contribute to serious spinal strain and musculoskeletal issues.

Recognizing the growing need for accessible spine care in this remote region, The Spine Foundation, in collaboration with Global Hospital & Research Centre, established the Mount Abu Spine Centre—a pioneering initiative to bring world-class spinal healthcare to the heart of Rajasthan’s only hill station. The center has quickly become a beacon of hope, offering specialized treatment, expert consultations, and preventive care to both locals and the region’s many visitors.

Many residents of Mount Abu and surrounding villages face chronic conditions such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and persistent back pain. Often, these issues go undiagnosed or untreated due to limited local awareness and economic constraints. Through free spine surgery camps and ongoing outpatient services, the Mount Abu Spine Centre bridges this gap—delivering not just relief from pain, but a renewed chance at active, independent living. Patients who would have otherwise remained immobilized or dependent now find themselves regaining function and freedom.

But The Spine Foundation’s work in Mount Abu doesn’t stop at surgical intervention. True to its mission of sustainable community transformation, TSF is also deeply engaged in education, prevention, and local capacity-building. In partnership with Global Hospital, the team conducts regular awareness campaigns, workshops on spinal hygiene, and posture correction sessions, particularly targeting those involved in daily labor or yoga without proper form. Local healthcare professionals, too, are trained through continuing education programs to recognize and manage spinal conditions early—ensuring continuity of care even after visiting specialists leave.

This holistic approach has not only made specialized spinal healthcare accessible in a once-underserved region, but also fostered a culture of wellness and awareness that will serve generations to come. In Mount Abu—where health, spirituality, and community are deeply interwoven—The Spine Foundation’s efforts are perfectly aligned with the ethos of the region. By empowering both patients and practitioners, the Foundation is transforming lives, one spine at a time.

As the hills echo with chants of devotion and the forests breathe life into every sunrise, the people of Mount Abu can now move through their days with less pain and greater promise. The Spine Foundation’s presence here ensures that no one, regardless of geography or income, is left behind in their journey toward health, dignity, and strength.
